You answer to the big question will take two forms.
1. After reading the articles listed below as well as viewing the video, write a one page paper that discusses the fall of the Inca empire to Pizarro and evaluates the factors that contributed to Pizarro's victory. Be sure to support your position with evidence from the 'texts'. Write a one page response to the question. Make sure you cite the above readings and the video to support your answer. This paper will be written in-class on April 3. Bring your notes.
2. Your group will prepare and present a two to three minute newscast, either from the present or from the past, about Pizarro and the conquest of the Incas to present to the class on Friday, April 5. Your newscast must arugue for the two most important reasons why Pizarros was successful. Each newscast must include at least one graphic (chart) that helps explain Pizarro's success. Each chart should compare the Inca empire with the Spanish empire. Newscasts may include the following: an anchor person, an on-the-scene reporter, an Incan eye-witness, a Spanish eye-witness, expert testimony. No commercials allowed. This is to be a serious newscast.
You will have at least one period of class time on Monday and Wednesday to work on this project. All presentations will be on Friday.
